Alfred and Violetta

Tue, Apr 14 · 19:00 Gabriadze Theatre

The marionette classic "Alfred and Violetta" returns to Gabriadze Theatre, reimagined by Leo Gabriadze after Rezo Gabriadze’s extensive revisions. This adaptation brings the legendary tale of love—familiar from Dumas fils’ novel and Verdi’s opera—into a new light, set against the backdrop of Tbilisi and other cities in the turbulent 1990s. Follow Alfred and Violetta as their relationship faces formidable challenges, moving from Mtatsminda to Milan, Khashuri, Rome, Abastumani, Venice, and Dighomi. The performance lasts 75 minutes. Before the show, relax at the “Ar Idardo” bar from 18:00 for ticket holders, with access for all from 20:30. The show does not admit children under 12. Please arrive on time; latecomers will not be allowed in once the performance has started, preserving the theatre’s intimate atmosphere.
