Alfred and Violetta
The iconic Gabriadze Theatre brings back 'Alfred and Violetta'—a classic tale reborn. Originally staged in 1981 by Rezo Gabriadze, the play reimagines the famous love story immortalized in Dumas fils’ novel and Verdi’s opera. Before passing, Gabriadze rewrote much of the show, infusing it with new meaning. Now, under the direction of Leo Gabriadze, the performance spans Tbilisi’s Mtatsminda and cities like Milan, Rome, Venice, and more. This time the lovers’ journey unfolds amid dramatic 1990s events in Tbilisi, presenting new obstacles to their passion and resilience. The performance lasts 75 minutes and is not suitable for children under 12. Guests can relax before the show in the “Ar Idardo” bar located at the theatre lobby, open for ticket holders from 18:00, and for all others from 20:30. Please note, no late admissions are allowed to preserve the intimate and magical setting Gabriadze Theatre is famed for.
