History of the Kingdom of Kartli. Volume II
Our lecture hall will host the presentation of the second volume of a study dedicated to the history of Eastern Georgia: from the formation of United Georgia (1100 AD) to the abolition of the Kingdom of Kartli (1801 AD), covering roughly half of Georgia's extensive history.
This is not an academic study in the strict sense, nor is it journalism. Events are presented briefly but systematically. The book will be useful for those who want to get a general understanding of Georgian history or to organize the knowledge they already have. It will be especially helpful for newcomers who find it difficult to navigate the events of South Caucasus history. This edition is entirely a private project.
At Auditoria, the book will be presented by its editor, archaeologist Alexander Avetikov. The author and creator of the website "Georgia for Everyone," Alexey Mukhranov, will join the presentation remotely.
During the presentation, we will discuss how the materials for the book were gathered, how the historical events of the region are systematized, and from which stages one should begin independent study of the history of the Kingdom of Kartli.
